Orbit - Live News Map // Coverage
We aggregate open-source and publicly available data across a wide range of domains — including real-time conflict events, satellite tracking, earthquakes, natural disasters, wildfires, weather, financial markets, and news from trusted outlets worldwide. Flight positions are sourced from community ADS-B networks (volunteer receivers). Maritime data draws on open AIS streams and public port databases. The platform curates over 220 news outlets — one per country — with daily articles plotted directly on the globe. All sources are credited below.
Features
- 3D Map Tiles Google Maps Photorealistic 3D Tiles: turn on "3D TILES" in the globe controls for street-level buildings and terrain when you zoom in.
- Flights in Real Time Aircraft positions update in real time (every few seconds) so you see live movement, not snapshots. Sourced from open-source ADS-B (adsb.lol). Coverage is sparser over Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the Middle East — reflecting volunteer feeder density. Note: satellite-tracked flights are not included, though FlightRadar24 API integration is planned for power users.
- Satellites Track over 12,000 active satellites plotted in real time on the globe, positioned by their current location and altitude. Each satellite's orbital path is visualised, giving you a live picture of what's overhead at any moment. Orbital data is sourced entirely from CelesTrak and refreshed every 2 hours in line with their public update policy. Coverage spans all tracked object groups — from ISS and GPS constellations to weather, reconnaissance, and debris fields.
- Marine Traffic Vessel positions are updated every 10 minutes. We may increase the update frequency in the future if demand requires it or if users request it.
- GPS Jamming Monitor GPS jamming and navigation interference across the globe, updated daily. The layer aggregates ADS-B signals broadcast by aircraft — each of which reports the accuracy of its onboard navigation system in real time. That data is collected, processed, and mapped as a hexagonal grid: green indicates clean signal across an area, yellow flags moderate degradation, and red marks zones where significant interference was reported. While low accuracy doesn't always confirm jamming, it correlates strongly with known conflict zones and areas of suspected military electronic warfare activity. Data is sourced via ADS-B Exchange and processed by gpsjam.org, refreshed every 24 hours at midnight UTC.
- Live News The platform aggregates news from over 230 outlets spanning every region of the world — one primary source per country, supplemented by key international and regional feeds. Each outlet is ingested via its RSS feed, which refreshes automatically every time the page is loaded, ensuring you are always reading the latest available articles. Headlines are geolocated and plotted directly on the globe at each country's capital, giving you an at-a-glance picture of what is being reported where. All sources are listed and credited in full below.

Known Issues & Roadmap v1.65
Active issues we are aware of and working to resolve. Some items are pending a platform-level decision before implementation begins.
- UI — Small Screen Support (<600px Portrait) The interface is not yet optimised for portrait mode on screens narrower than 600px. Layout elements, controls, and the globe panel may overlap or become inaccessible on small phones in portrait orientation. A dedicated mobile-first responsive pass is planned. in progress
- Flight Data — Satellite-Tracked Aircraft Missing Aircraft tracked exclusively via satellite transponders (common over oceans and low-coverage regions such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and parts of the Middle East) do not appear in the feed. Our current ADS-B source only covers ground-station-received signals. We are evaluating whether to allow users to connect a personal API key (e.g. FlightRadar24) or to provide a platform-wide commercial feed — decision pending. pending decision
- CCTV Mesh — Personal Feed Integration (Coming Soon) We are planning to allow users to connect their own CCTV or IP camera mesh to the platform. Once connected, a dedicated tile will appear in the monitor panel, letting you view your own camera feeds overlaid on the globe via the web interface. - v1.65 — Pakistan news sources added Pakistan Intel now credits additional local outlets that were already live in the feed but missing from this page: Geo News, The Nation, Business Recorder, Express News, Aaj News, BOL News, GNN, Arab News Pakistan, ProPakistani, Independent Urdu, 24 News, APP, INP, Daily Khabrain, The Current, The Financial Daily, Hamariweb, Ummat, BOL News Urdu, and Daily Patriot. Dawn, ARY News, and Express Tribune were already listed.
- v1.64 — Content Policy Update In the latest patch, we disabled the open-source war-footage and strike-report feature because we believe it was inconsistent with our core beliefs. We do not support armed violence by any side.
