PLDB combines Boolean search, deep keyword search, full-text judgment search and structured legal data so users can research beyond headnotes and summaries. The platform includes reported and unreported judgments from courts and tribunals across Pakistan, with coverage extending from 1947 to 2026.

Obsidian is PLDB's agentic legal research system, built on Grok 4.6 with a 500,000-token context window. It researches full judgments and legislation, compares authorities, identifies supporting and contrary precedents, analyses uploaded documents and verifies citations against the PLDB legal corpus before forming its answer.

Obsidian shows its research progress while it works and keeps cited authorities connected to the underlying judgments. Where available, users can open the original PDF directly at the relevant page. Fast mode handles everyday research, while High mode is designed for deeper and more extensive legal analysis.

Making Legal Research Better for Pakistan

Pak Legal Database was built around a simple idea: legal research should be easier to access, faster to use and better suited to the way lawyers actually work.

Our mission is to bring Pakistan's case law, legislation and modern research tools together in one dependable platform. We combine advanced legal search, full-text judgments, multilingual access and Obsidian legal AI so lawyers can move from a legal question to the relevant law without wasting hours navigating fragmented sources.

We are equally focused on access. Legal research should not be restricted by expensive subscriptions or outdated technology. Pak Legal Database is designed for practicing lawyers, chambers, firms, students, researchers and institutions across Pakistan, with a continuing focus on expanding the material available on the platform and improving the tools used to research it.

Protecting the Platform and Your Data

Pak Legal Database uses layered security controls across its web infrastructure, network perimeter and application stack. Connections are encrypted in transit, malicious traffic is filtered before reaching core services, and user information is handled under strict privacy controls.

Transport Security Full (Strict) SSL/TLS Encrypted HTTPS connections are enforced between users, Cloudflare and the origin infrastructure to protect information while it is transmitted.

Encryption Modern Encryption Standards Modern TLS protocols, including TLS 1.3 where supported, are used to secure data moving between users and PLDB services.

Network Protection Cloudflare Security & DDoS Protection Cloudflare provides an additional security layer between public traffic and PLDB infrastructure, helping filter malicious requests, automated abuse and denial-of-service attacks.

Application Security Web Application Firewall Cloudflare and Wordfence firewall controls help detect and block suspicious requests, exploit attempts, malicious bots and common web-based attacks.

Access Control Restricted Infrastructure Access Core systems, databases and administrative services are separated from ordinary public access and protected through controlled authentication and network restrictions.

Threat Prevention Firewall Rules & Traffic Filtering Custom firewall rules and automated security controls are used to identify abusive behaviour and block potentially malicious traffic before it reaches protected services.
